Steviol glycoside is made from Stevia leaves (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni).
Its E-number is
960. It is allowed to use as a sweetener from 2.12.2011. Stevia extract (made
from leaves) contain nine different natural steviol glycosides and its sweetness
is about 300 times more than sucrose but the calorie content is zero. |
